Admission
The School of Law, Christ University is approved by the Bar Council of India to conduct the B.A., LL.B. course. The school offers a five-year integrated law program, the successful completion of which will earn the student a B.A., LL.B. degree to be awarded by Christ University, in addition to the mandatory courses over the ten semester program, has introduced for the benefit of its students numerous other value-added courses and programs aimed at putting the student on par with standard of legal education imparted at the best international universities. The B.A., LL.B course at Christ University is oriented towards the industry and is aided by an advisory board comprised of some of the leading lights in the legal fraternity.
Admission Procedure:
Admission to the First Year of the 5-year Programme is made on the basis of an interview, which is usually held in May-June. Eligibility: Students who have passed their 10+2 School Examination or equivalent with not less than 45% marks in the final examination. Age Limit: Below 25 years as on 1st July of that year.
Applications are to be collected from the college office. Applications can also be downloaded from the Christ College website. Applicants are allotted an interview schedule when collecting the application. Applicants who download the application forms are to call the college office and schedule an interview.
Course structure and Faculty
The curriculum for the course is a mix of social science subjects and legal subjects. In the first two years, students are taught History, Political Science, Sociology and Economics along with value added subjects, such as Legal Research Skills and Introduction to International Legal Systems and Introduction to Standard Legal Subjects. The current faculties at Christ College of Law are from the best international and national universities like the London School of Economics ("LSE"), Delhi University ("DU") and Jawaharlal Nehru University ("JNU"). The college also in the process of conceptualizing and constituting an advisory board consisting of eminent personalities in the legal fraternity to advice and fine-tune the curriculum to the needs of the industry.
Infrastructure
The Bangalore Urban Art Commission has selected the college for the Best Campus Award for four consecutive years, 1996 through 2000. Christ College library offers students an excellent selection of books and magazines on all subjects. The library provides photocopying facilities to the faculty and students. All administrative works of the college are computerized. The four computer labs are equipped with the latest Intel microprocessor-based computers. To integrate Information System Technology into the present curriculum, the college is one of the first educational institutions to be able to boast of Internet connectivity through 1024 KBS Primus and Cisco Router with 1MBPS Internet leased line connecting its students to the world and beyond.
