Interior Designer apart from commercial setups they also undertake private practice. Interior Designer is the one who makes the Interior beautiful of a building.

The job of Interior Designer may Pertain to Hotels, Offices, Restaurants, Pubs, Banks, Commercial Complex, they also cover the flooring, ceiling , color combination, electrical etc… keeping in mind of the people’s interest.

Interior Designer can work with the architecture or can leave there own consultancy. Or work in design team within large organizations. Interior Designing is a glamorous field with money where the awareness on the subject is increasing. The Interior Designer will have a training in this field an have good technical knowledge of the building and structure, the Interior Designer will work closely with the architectures for planning and constructions of the buildings, they layout the building for ventilation, drainage, electricity, air conditioner, etc… for maximum utilization of the space. Interior Decorators on the other hand need a great deal of creativity, Imagination and love for playing with the combinations of the colors and space. An Interior Decorator advice on the lightning effects, color schemes, texture, fabric and decorative materials, basically Interior Decorator deals with handling of movable materials.

As an Interior Designing one can specialize in two areas- Commercial Designing Or Residential Designing. In the area of Commercial Designing one has to design for Hotels, Restaurants, Banks, Corporate Offices, Shopping malls etc… and as a Residential Designing one will have to design for Houses, Apartments, Villas etc…. with the rapid growth in the number of specialization areas in Interior designing one can specialize in one single area like Landscaping, Kitchen, bathroom, Lightning, etc…

Eligibility:To pursue one’s career as an Interior designing Course of Three-years one has to complete 10+2, some of the Institution offers five-years Course in Interior Designing too. But whatever may be the period of course one has to know the technical details of the profession one must have the flair of creativity and style to stick in this challenging field. Also one can study in any stream at 10+2 and continue with diploma in Interior designing and also its worth mentioning the knowledge about Vaastu and Feng-Shui as these discipline are increasingly being used in the designing and architecture Industry.

One can study Interior Designing at CEPT(Center for Environmental Planning and Technology) one has to pass the standard 12th examination or its equivalent in the science stream with min aggregate score of 50% in the Subjects and students waiting for 12th standard results can also apply if there 10th aggregate is 65%. Their admission will be provisional till the 12th results have been declared.
